YP-38
The P-38 Lightning is a significant representative of the US Army Air Corps, a heavy fighter with an unusual twin-boom tail used for escorting bombers across Pacific. These aircraft were used by some of the most effective US ace pilots – Richard Ira Bong with 40 victories and Thomas McGuire with 38 victories. The YP-38 was a Lightning prototype armed with a 37mm cannon, two 12.7mm machine guns and two 7.62mm machine guns mounted in the nose of the fighter, providing high accuracy fire. This campaign, based upon historical events, allows you to fight as a pilot in the U.S. Navy against the Imperial Japanese Air Forces in the battles of the Pacific Theatre. |
