The B1 Centauro is an Italian wheeled tank destroyer, jointly developed by a several prominent Italian companies in the mid 1980s. The VRCC Centauro is an export version of the vehicle, delivered to the Spanish Armed Forces in the early 2000s. The VRCC Centauro has an excellent mobility and can achieve a maximum speed of over 100 km/h. It is armed with a 105 mm OTO Melara gun with a coaxial 7,62 mm machine gun, and it is also equipped with two 7,62 mm Beretta 42/59 machine guns. The ammunition is represented by the HESH, HEATFS, smoke shells and APFSDS with an up to 400 mm armor penetration. Additionally, the VRCC Centauro is equipped with a thermal imager for the gunner and a night vision device for the driver and the commander, and also a smoke grenade launchers.
