Merkava Mk.3 Raam Segol is the third modification of the Israeli Merkava tank. A distinctive feature is the presence of the active protection system “Raam Segol” (“purple thunder” - Hebrew). This system consists of tank-mounted radar units, aerosol grenade launchers and a control unit with a warning system. The tank is armed with a powerful 120 mm IMI MG251 gun, capable of hitting armored targets at long distances. The Merkava Mk.3 Raam Segol is equipped with a 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun and a 7.62 mm FN MAG 60-40 machine gun for active fire support. The ammunition load includes HEATFS, APFSDS and HE-TF shells. Equipped with a laser rangefinder, ESS, and smoke grenade launchers.
