The USS Bennion (DD-662) is a Fletcher-class destroyer that served initially under the banner of the U.S. Navy throughout the second half of WW2 and into the 1940s. During the Battle of Surigao Strait Bennion was responsible for the torpedo that sunk the Japanese battleship Yamashiro. She also received the Presidential Unit Citation for her actions off Okinawa and eight battle stars.

USS Bennion allows her captain to make devastating use of the sheer volume of AA fire to not only decimate incoming planes, but virtually anything that crosses her path that doesn’t possess much if any armour protection. Sporting a fearsome array of offensive armaments, ranging from five 127mm cannons mounted in single turrets to ten 533mm torpedo tubes spread across two launchers located mid-ships, the Fletcher is able to confidently take on any foe in battle only to send it to the bottom of the ocean shortly after. The combination of American 40mm and 20mm cannons is very deadly mix to keep the sky clear of any threats from above and providing supporting fire for her allies.
