Q-5D
The Q-5D is a modernized version of the Chinese Nanchang Q-5 supersonic attack aircraft, developed from the J-6 fighter. The aircraft features an updated cockpit and a digital targeting system with a head-up display (HUD), making it easier to aim and employ its weapons. Despite its ground-attack role, the Q-5D retains its high speed and good flight characteristics, allowing it not only to carry out rapid strikes against ground targets but also to engage enemy fighters. The Q-5D’s arsenal includes two 23 mm autocannons, various types of 250 kg and 500 kg bombs, as well as 90 mm and 130 mm unguided rockets. An all-aspect radar warning receiver helps detect radar threats in time, improving the aircraft’s survivability in combat. The aircraft is also equipped with 64 chaff/flare countermeasures. |
