The BMD-4M (“Airborne Combat Vehicle”) is a further development of the BMD-4 combat vehicle. This vehicle has been 80% unified with the BMP-3, featuring a new chassis and an additional armor package. This modification is produced at the Kurgan Machine-Building Plant and is currently in service with the Russian army.

The BMD-4M is capable of achieving a good maximum speed of 70 km/h. Its main armament includes a 100 mm cannon paired with a 30 mm cannon, as well as a 7.62 mm caliber machine gun. Additionally, the BMD-4M is equipped with the “Tucha” smoke grenade launch system, a smoke screen deployment system, and a thermal imager for the gunner.
