The A‑7E Corsair II is a carrier‑based attack aircraft that entered service with the Hellenic Air Force in the late 1970s after being supplied by the United States as part of military assistance programs. Developed as an improved variant of the early A‑7 series, it received upgraded avionics, navigation systems, and a more powerful engine. The aircraft remained in Greek service until 2014.

The A‑7E carries a wide range of ordnance for ground‑attack missions, including bombs from 250 to 2000 pounds, napalm canisters, and AGM‑62 guided bombs for precision strikes. For suppressing radar‑emitting targets, it can employ AGM‑45B air‑to‑surface missiles. For air combat, AIM‑9D/G infrared‑guided missiles are available. Additionally, the aircraft can mount 20 mm or 30 mm gun pods, making the A‑7E a versatile platform capable of performing a broad spectrum of strike missions.
