Stingray II is a modernized version of the American light tank Stingray, developed by Cadillac Gage/Textron in the 1990s. The vehicle saves the core concept of the original: low weight, high mobility, and the ability to be airlifted by a C‑130, while receiving improved armor protection, a digital fire‑control system, and an upgraded chassis. Stingray II was promoted as an affordable, easy‑to‑maintain fire‑support tank for countries without the infrastructure for heavy MBTs.

Although light, the tank is equipped with a powerful 105 mm LRF gun paired with a laser rangefinder, providing accurate target engagement at medium and long distances. The gunner also has access to a thermal sight. Stingray II carries a 12.7 mm anti‑aircraft machine gun and a merged 7.62 mm machine gun. The vehicle is fitted with smoke grenade launchers and supports the use of a reconnaissance UAV. Its high speed, reaching nearly 70 km/h, allows rapid repositioning and the ability to “sting” opponents where they expect it least.
