The Type 90 was developed during the 1970s and 1980s as a replacement for Japan's aging Type 61 and Type 74 tanks. After a long development period, it entered service in 1992.

The Type 90 is a fairly unique MBT design, featuring a very impressive 4-second autoloader, allowing it to beat the reload time of all contemporary MBTs. It doesn’t offer the strongest protection from incoming rounds, but it makes up for this with very impressive mobility, with the Type 90 outpacing the vast majority of contemporary vehicles. It also comes with a laser rangefinder and thermal sight, allowing you to accurately and rapidly fire shots at long range from your 120 mm cannon.

It also features hydropneumatic suspension control, being able to tilt the hull forward or backward as well as raise or lower its clearance, allowing you to make use of a wide variety of map locations.

The Type 90B is an aggressive powerhouse; its fast reload and great speed let it deal with enemies quickly and effectively, whether sniping at range or pushing the flanks.
